Craft Extravaganza.......

The lovely Darcy very kindly sent me some fab pieces of proper USA deli paper as I was longing to try out something that Patti Tolley Parrish did on a Ustream a few months ago.

Next I started to stamp images onto tags and piece of card that I'd made the previous day using brushos, bleach, bondaweb and some of the samples we did last week at the workshop, but mainly I thought I'd show you that I can actually make a mess!!

Here are some of the finished pieces. Well when I say finished, they still need fibres and some embellies.

And for the last couple of hours I got my melt pot out and set some metal pieces into melted UTEE using Ranger frames.

I'm going to pick a few pieces out and show them to you in more detail over the next few days if anyone is interested.

Fabric Tags

From these......

To these.

I coloured the backgrounds with a wash of LB's 1st special edition of paints, seaweed, tikka, chutney and chartreuse. Stencilled through with snowflake, bumped and added another wash. More stencilling and stamping.

This is one of the techniques we did at the workshop last week and I really enjoyed it. Love how the fabric has totally changed colour.

Imagine

I was asked by Neet if I would like to make a few projects for Artful Times. The theme for this fortnight is a house shaped card.

I used the TH Sizzix Townscape on the edge die to create the house shapes and also cut a piece out of brick paper.  The word is from word chain #5 by Clarity stamps.

Hope you'll find the time to join in.

Purple and Turquoise Brushos

Again, not overly impressed with the background.

But my bleach stamping has definitely improved, you can see the actual words.

Again not overly excited about the original background.

Love how the detail came out on the Dina heart, also used some Stampotique splats and a quote.

Brushos and Bleach Stamping

Was playing around with Brusho again but not that keen on what I did, this was about the best one using turquoise and orange which also created a bit of a green where they met.

Then I had a bit of a happy accident. I stamped in bleach, but I had a bit too much fluid on the stamp and instead of it leaving fine petal lines, it took everything away just leaving an outside edge. So I over stamped in versa fine black. Quite pleased with how it's turned out.

Again, not another one I was wild about, using purple and lemon.

And again I had way too much bleach on the dragonfly stamp, so all I was left with was the white space. As you can see, I didn't quite get it lined up, but it looks okay. I had better luck with the flower head, but it was a much smaller stamp.

This one wasn't too bad once I came back to it this morning and it had dried properly.

Hero Arts flower stem stamped in bleach. As you can see too much fluid again on the right one, but there is some definition in the other two, so getting better with practice.

Birthday Card

It's my nephews birthday in October, so I used the other half of the accordion die cuts that Chris kindly sent me to make this card for him.

As it was going somewhere I decorated the back of this one too.

Close up of the script stamping in black and white on the back of the card.

That's Crafty have a theme of 'This is a mans world'
and
FSC have a theme of 'Birthday card for someone special'

Weekend at Lins - Day 2 - Part 2

So after lunch, out came the screen printing kits. These are sooooo much fun. This is Lin helping Lin get one of the prints into her journal.

And this is the result, and you can also spy a feather and half a dragonfly in the bottom corner.

Karen decided to sit this one out as she's done it all before, but for the rest of us, it was a first.

We kept to the same colours for each screen (image) so Lin didn't have to keep washing and drying everything, it was bad enough after we'd all done a round and finished with a screen and a squeegee.

Now I can't remember the exact colours we used but we did the alphabet in an orange and the pen nibs in black and I chose to print them over patterned paper. They have a great texture as they are slightly raised.

This one is a seedhead and the colour was emerald green. This one bled slightly.

Loved the butterfly, it looked especially good in the black.

The PINK feather bled a bit too, but the orange dragonfly came out fabulous, so much detail.

More seedheads, this time in gold and the butterfly again in black.

The the lovely Karen let us lose on her Spectrum Noir (?) blendable pencils, which I didn't really get because to blend them you had to use a paper stump and some special fluid. Anyway, I had a go and quickly gave up.

So Lin and I swapped seats so she could make a mini tag for Lin as she'd asked us all to make one sometime over the weekend so she could put it in her mini folder.

We also managed to sneak out into the garden for another little play!!

We then moved onto a tag which had been covered in fabric. Using the LB first set of limited edition paints and snowflake, stencils and some PA minis, I stenciled and stamped onto the tag after a couple of colour washes over the fabric - loved this one.

And the final play before the day came to an end, was to crackle a piece of material. A generous helping of mud splat was painted on to cover all of the material. A layer of crackle was spread over the dried mud splat and then sage was sponged over the top.

And then the cracks happened. IRL the mud splat actually looks metallic under the sage.

And finally our end of day group photo (including Meg) before we all descended off in different directions to start our journey home.

It was fantastic to meet up with everyone again, and a huge thank you to each of you for a truly wonderful weekend.

A Weekend at Lins - Day 2 - Part 1

So after a lovely cooked breakfast at the Spicy (Super) Sausage, we were all set again for another fantastic day of playing and dabbling.

Lin had prepared lots of fabulous things for us to play with.

Mostly tag based, but everyone was invited to bring their own journals too, if you have one of course!!

Firstly we were let lose with the Prima Colour Bloom sprays in an array of colours. These 2 were just spritzed and flicked with water.

Left one is amazing, sprayed lots and lots and then stamped into to take away the colour. Left is spritzed and then the colour sprayed onto a craft mat, stamp put in the colour and then stamped onto the tag.

Left is sprayed over a piece of material and the gold dots shine through, and left is a 2 colour combo to create a rust effect - gorgeous.

Then we played with the Luminarte Silks - lush and fantastic colours, so smooth and silky.

Used different mediums to cover the tags to see how each reacted. I used olive green and ginger peach.

Left is based coated in amber honey and chestnut brown tickled around the edges. Right is patterned paper, stamped with an inked image and coloured in in greens and browns directly from the pot. The background is colour washed in the amber honey.

Another doggie play was needed before the gelatos came out, and she asked so nicely!!

Top one gelatos scribbled across the tag then spritzed for drippage, bottom one was a couple of colours blended.

Top one, gelatos removed with a babywipe and bottom one gelatos over white heat embossing and additional stamping.

Close up of the removal, which leaves a tint of the original colour.

Close up of the white heated embossing powder and the gelatos.

And for the final play of the morning we used Derwent inktense watercolour pencils to outline a grunge pasted image through a stencil.

We then broke of for some lunch.
